Why we must vote.

Troops Speak Out Against Withdrawal.

The soldiers and Marines understand that victory cannot be replaced by “phased redeployment”. If the tactics need changing or adjustment, then bring in better ideas — but we cannot allow retreat and capitulation become the only other option for Iraq.

Many Theatres, One Struggle:

Our World War II foes were animated by different and even inconsistent ideologies. Yet no serious military historian would question that combat with Nazi Germany in the European and African theatres was a part of a broader epochal struggle against the Axis Powers.

Likewise the streets of Baghdad, the dusty roads of the Sunni Triangle, the back alleys of Kabul, and the mountains of Pashawar are all theatres in the global struggle against the Islamists. The surest way to hand them victory is to lose sight of this reality.

I know you don’t like that. I know you don’t want to believe that. I know you would like to believe only a cross eyed, red necked, right wing, apocalyptic, bozo hick like George Bush would believe such a thing, but that won’t let you off the hook. However much you don’t want to believe it, however much you would like it to go away, however loudly you whistle in the dark and comfort yourself with the sweet thought of Nancy Pelosi hanging her drapes over Denny Hastert’s fat, dead, humiliated body, it is still true.
