Religion of Peace Hate Update
As David Frum would say:
Stop Calling Islam Violent, or we’ll kill more nuns.
A servant of God and an obvious woman of grace was murdered in Somalia, probably because she was the personification of Christ’s love.
I hope that those condemning Benedict’s words will spend at least as much time condemning an act of deep hatred.
And dear Pope: clarify, contextualize, express sorrow over the wrong interpretation of your remarks, but please don’t apologize for the Truth—not now, not ever.
The Pope’s message to Muslims should not be an apology; it should be: Get over it.
This Pope is not a politician trying to manipulate the media, but a theologian trying to preach what he believes to be the truth, which is exactly what the Vicar of Christ ought to do. After all, how communications-savvy was Jesus?
The pope says I’m sorry that you guys didn’t like the speech, but ummm…yer kinda proving my point….
The Pope is sorry for the reaction to his remarks. He did not apologize for the remarks themselves, in which he argued that forced conversions were contrary to reason, and hence, to the Christian concept of God.
Send your words of support to Pope Benedict
[T]he rejection of reason and dialogue amounts to a rejection of God, within whom reason and faith finally meet. You bravely attempted to open a Socratic dialogue with Muslims on this very point, inviting them to move away from violence and extortion in the spread of their faith and encouraging them to use rhetoric and reason to support their doctrines.
They answered you by murdering one of your flock, and if we’re lucky, we’ll only lose one.
If Islam is ever to peacefully co-exist with other faiths in the manner that Christendom finally learned how to do, then it has to start abiding questions and criticisms without resorting to violence.
