It sometimes saddens me that I had to fight so hard to have the chance to bring forth little lives, to have the chance to love & nourish them and make a small world flourish. The fight itself used up so much energy I could have put to much better use. And yet I know how lucky I’ve been. The joy I have now in seeing my two little tow-heads bop around the yard, outside my window, is underscored by such a deep psychological peace, that the tiredness doesn’t much matter. I can always rest in the shade while they gambol about in the sunshine. They’d be delighted if I played too, but the main thing is they know I’m right there.
