Kosovo Independence?

Wretchard warns:
In a decade the Balkans may have reorganized itself along ethnic lines. The intervention of Europe and NATO will have made the process more orderly and humane but it would not have succeeded in changing the basic outcome. The whole Balkan adventure is a cautionary tale about the limitations of specifying the "multicultural" idea as the cornerstone of the modern state.
A commenter also asks:
If Kosovo succeeds, I wonder if we'll be looking at bits and pieces of GErmany, France, and Norway given over to their Muslims with the proviso that they can do any damned thing they want to to each other, but they *must* stay behind their walls. France already has more or less done this, segregating its Muslims into certain areas where the police don't go, and the youths are free to BBQ cars to their heart's content because, after all, what does it matter if dozens of cars are ruined since they all belong to Muslim parents any way?

Kosovo is Serbia. Read the history books. Should California break away from the USA because there is a huge Mexican population? Kosovo is Serbia, whether on paper or not.
