Roberto Abbado and Midori
My second San Francisco Symphony concert tonight (my first was Joshua Bell playing Beethoven’s violin concerto a couple of weeks ago — Bell is a Bloomington, Indiana native and IU alumnus).
Midori is simply a stunning musician.
Britten’s violin concerto is extremely difficult (both for the performer and, at times, for the listener), but rewardingly beautiful.
