Victory

In a word, the Iraqis should rightfully be very, very proud of their achievement over terror. Thanks to Hugh Hewitt and Glenn Reynolds for pointing out some clear thinking blogs unlike the confused and comical Legacy Media. First, Major K reports:
The New Iraqi Army has much to be proud of. They gave the arhabi the purple finger. It was a very good day.
Next, One Marine's View:
Reporter’s countrywide saturated the area days prior to the elections to hopefully catch the US forces failing. Well to damn bad it didn’t happen so pound sand! You be the judge on just how much coverage there is of the actual elections on the news tomorrow. My bet is that there won’t be much beside some BS doubters or what if this or what if that negative crap on. I know that if there were an unsuccessful election, it would have been nothing but “Breaking News” shots about how we failed. It’s a good day to be an American, stand tall America we helped a country get on its feet today. Semper Fi-Capt B
Murdoc Online remembers the naysayers:
Iraqi constitution seems likely to pass Recall that it would take many months and many thousands of American lives simply to conquer Iraq. Recall that, even if we managed to get control, the Iraqi people would never regain their sovereignty. Recall that, even if we did give Iraq back to the Iraqis, it would simply be a puppet government that ruled. Recall that, even if the government ever allowed elections, the Iraqi people wouldn't be interested in participating. Recall that, even if the Iraqis did want to vote, the violence in Iraq would prevent them from doing so. Recall that, even if elections were held, they would be so corrupt as to be worthless. Recall that, even if a freely-elected government was formed, they would never be able to keep control. Recall that, even if a new Iraqi government did manage to run things, they would never agree on a permanent charter. Recall that, even a charter acceptable to all government leaders was written, the Iraqi voters would never approve it. Recall that, even if voters did approve a new constitution, it would be without much participation of the Sunnis and would therefore be meaningless.
Don't miss the punchline produced by the inane Legacy Media. They work tirelessly to make Good News Bad. And this is why, in the end, they cannot be trusted to report the facts. Which leads back to Instapundit's observation that there are others much more reliably reporting events in Iraq. Once again, thank you Al Gore for inventing the internet.

Why is it that American Solders can be trained in 6 months, then send into battle, and no ones knows how long it will take to train Iraq Solders to defened their own Country? Or is that just an excuse to build Permanent Bases in Iraq, so we can keep the oil pipe lines open.
