New Media Doing the Job

While elite Legacy Media types whine. Michelle Malkin has fun tweaking the nose of elites such as TNR's Peter Beinart while he snickers at New Media talk show hosts on their way to Iraq. The trip is being organized by one of my morning commute compatriots, the irrepressible Melanie Morgan of KSFO. These New Media clear thinkers should provide a very refreshing take on Iraq -- and, a very significant morale boost to the men and women putting their lives on the line while changing the course of history in the Middle East. Pitiful Peter thinks those who disagree with his politics are not real journalists, but Propagandists. Anyone who has listened to KSFO's morning program knows Melanie Morgan does not simply spout W's or the GOP's talking points. In fact, she regularly slams W's weak immigration policies. And, of course, she is no journalist:
Ms. Morgan started her broadcasting career at the age of 16, working at her college radio station, KCLC FM, in St. Charles, Missouri. Shortly thereafter, she began an internship at KUDL AM/FM in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri. After working at several radio stations in Kansas City, Melanie began her television career as a researcher, for ABC TV's Howard K. Smith, during the 1976 Republican Convention. In 1980, Melanie went to work for KMBC, Channel 9 in Kansas City as a television reporter and anchor. She moved to the Bay Area in 1981 and began working for KGO television as a free-lance reporter. It wasn't long before KGO Radio recognized Melanie's outstanding news and reporting ability. Her talents were fully realized when she stepped forward to spend three weeks in Beirut, Lebanon covering the conflict of that war-ravaged country. She received several awards for excellence in news reporting for her on-air reports from Lebanon.
Pitiful Peter needs to surf the web more before opening his mouth. But then again, Pitiful Peter is the real Propagandist. The fact that he is giving New Media folks this much attention shows how thin the Legacy Media gruel from Iraq really is. Now, time for some real, balanced and, horrors, American, reporting.
