Senator Dick

Delicious satire from IowaHawk via Little Green Footballs.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Epstein 3786 Arbor Cove Fairfax, VA Dear Mr. and Mrs. Epstein: In her diaries, Anne Frank wrote, "After all that has happened, I still believe there is good in everyone." I am sad to say that after the obscene neighborhood parking situation Saturday, prompted by your son Jacob's Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Shalom, I cannot reach the same optimistic conclusion. As I witnessed one after another of your uniformed parking attendant shock troops invading my cul de sac with menacing SUVs, eventual blocking my driveway, I could not help but imagine the raw panic that must have gripped the doomed souls that inhabited the ghettos of Warsaw in 1939. Although the traffic jam eventually passed over when your took your adolescent blitzkreig on to Lazer FunZone, I am not sure I will ever fully recover from the trauma. Never again, Mr. and Mrs. Epstein. Never again. Sincerely, Senator Richard J. Durbin Washington, DC
And, as Charles says, there's more, check it out! UPDATE: PowerLine notes the Boston Herald is demanding "Durbin Must Go." Roger Simon received real-time updates from the Senate floor where a group of freshman Senators sent Senator Dick a love letter:
WASHINGTON, DC - Freshman Senators Richard Burr - NC, Tom Coburn - OK, Jim DeMint - SC, Johnny Isakson - GA, Mel Martinez - FL, John Thune - SD and David Vitter - LA today issued the following statement in response to comments made by Senator Dick Durbin - IL on the Floor of the United States Senate comparing U.S. troops to Nazis, Soviets and others: As freshman Senators, we recently campaigned to change the tone in Washington and accomplish great things on behalf of the American people. We are united in our support for our troops in the ongoing War on Terror. We found Senator Durbin's remarks to be highly offensive and dangerous. This rhetoric is harmful to our soldiers and emboldens our enemies. We call on Senator Durbin to issue an apology to the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces. The American Armed Forces are the best in the world and to compare them with Nazis, Soviet Gulags, or Pol Pot is outrageous. Millions of innocent people were murdered in death camps under these evil regimes.
As far as I can see surfing Internet news sources, Senator Dick is getting a pass from the Legacy Media. Surprise, that. UPDATE II: Tom Maguire notes Senator Dick is getting kisses from Al Jazeera. If Senator Dick keeps this up, and he'll be in the running to head the UN. UPDATE III: To Regret, or Not To Regret, that is Senator Dick's question, and Captain Ed has an answer or two. UPDATE IV: Michelle Malkin has a nice roundup and a quote from the Vice President. Michelle also rounds up some Legacy Media comments here -- no, you won't be surprised, just exasperated. Also, don't miss the Graphic, but needed, Donald Sensing calibration piece -- Sensing and Shackleford at Jawa Report are teaching Senator Dick a bit of history. History that he evidently has forgotten for the sake of political expediency at the expense of his Country and his Armed Forces who protect his right to be Senator Dick. UPDATE V: Read The Anchoress, then read Hugh Hewitt here and also here.

  1. Mark in Mexico Says:

    Dick Durbin, Er…this is uncomfortable.

Dick Durbin discovers that some other people, besides our Nazi, Pol Pot-tish gulag managers at Gitmo, torture people, too. Durbin probably will ask for a report on the number of cells at Gitmo which are equipped with electric wires, a noose, handcuff…
